Quite dark in color. Ripe nose of red fruit, plum, baking spices, and dark cherries. Very tannic, especially for the age, with flavors of cherries, more spices, and red berries. Nice finish. Quite big for a Vosne Romanee, I would not have guessed Burgundy... But also quite delicious nonetheless. 92+

Ripe nose of red fruit, Xmas cake, sweet spices, sour cherry, the ripe 2002 vintage is showing. On the palate it is surely rich (but not overripe) lots of fruit and volume, tannin structure and acidity is there to support it. Not the most elegant Suchots but one that will also please drinkers of a more opulent style of Burgundy.

For such a good vintage, this wine was disappointing. The 2000 suchot was much better. The oak did not really integrate into the fruit. The taste of tea and oak was a bit dominating. It lacked the floral character of Confurons wine.

Medium- mahogany-red to brown. An intense bouquet of ripe red fruits, tar, dried earth, clear tertiary notes. A crunchy acidity lies underneath, frail rather developed fruit - an old lady. However, there is still some succulence to the texture, some roundness and soft pliant tannins - just enough to give the wine some backbone. Complex with a long luxuriant length that rides along an edge of acidity, this is a slender, sophisticated wine that is just past its best. Finish lingers with undergrowth and forest fruits.
