Beautiful nose of blueberries and oak. Lots of fruit and oak in the flavor too, and tannins, with some bitterness in the midpalate through to the finish. The wine softened considerably after being in the glass for an hour.

N: Alch atop berries, some herbaceousness; Poss some chocolate?
P: MF, poss F body with a rich, almost swtish entry. WANTS to be jammy, though the acidity mitigates that at least somewhat. Went MARVELOUSLY well with some swtish, homemade baked beans & BBQ'd brisket, one of the few wines that could have done so! (FYI, throws sediment)

Overall, I agree with WS rating and most of their notes: flavorful, rustic, baked cherry, briary plum. I did not think it finished on a tannic note though. Its finish was more rounded, perhaps due to its age. Fruit was still quite prevalent.
