Found 4 bottles of this lurking in my cellar and didn't really expect too much from an 8 year old SB. What a surprise! A beautiful lemon pie aroma and in the background some very subtle floral notes. In the mouth this was much more full bodied and richer than I remember this wine in it youth. The flavors were very nuanced and difficult to describe with the usual descriptors (I'm sipping more and thinking about it). There is good acidity and almost perfect balance. It went very well with a summer pasta dish (veggies, fresh tuna). A very interesting and pleasant wine.

Even though the CT guide suggests this be drunk by 2006, there is a quality about this wine that continues to hold up. While flashing hints on the nose that this is a Sauvignon Blanc, the taste is so round and gentle, I would say French in style, that this wine continues to shine on. I'll enjoy the rest of these that I have and hope they hang on. If this one is any judge, we'll be happily consuming for a little longer.

Still drinking well. A little heat on the finish.
