Went from 0-60 in about an hour, but what a transformation. Lifted and just hinting at the bright future ahead. Lordy, what a wine. If I had a notebook with me, the cover would be all hearts and stars. Drafting a letter to the white Rhône fan club right now. So, so, so dreamy…

The wine is clear, with pale lemon color, and thick legs.
On the nose, the wine is clean, with medium plus primary aroma intensity of sweet ripe white fruits, mango, melon, white peach, tropical fruits, lychee, citrus fruits, lemon, floral, almost perfume like, along with medium secondary aroma intensity of sweet oak spices, vanilla, hints of butter, and medium plus tertiary aroma intensity of horse sweat, dirt, gravel, slightly seductive.
On the palate, the wine is dry, with medium plus acidity, medium plus body, medium plus alcohol, medium plus primary flavor intensity of ripe white fruits, white peach, mango, white spices, medium secondary flavor intensity of oak spices, hints of vanilla, butter, almost like butterscotch candy, or condensed milk.
Finish is long, with fresh and live acidity, vibrant.
The wine is of an outstanding, as it is showing excellent balance between primary, secondary and tertiary charecterisitics, minerality and acidity. Length is very good, with intense and concentrated fruit, along with great complexity due to its many layers of component, on both aroma and palate.
The wine was expressive and appealing during tasting, however can benefit from further aging, in order to bring more of the tertiary characteristics to front, while keeping sharp and vibrant acidity. I believe this wine is having the potential of aging and fineness that sometimes can be found in the great wines of Meursault.

Tasting Ground official tasting, JL Chave Hermitage blanc vertical (Oinoscent): Decanted 9.20, rebottled 10.30, tasted 14.20 The most backward of them all, almost numb, hardly giving away anything. Its very low in fruit but with it open up nicely with a more Burgundian approach, fine oak frame, walnut In the palate, the wine is very beautiful, nutty, walnut, very ripe fruit, mineral, a touch warm, juicy, ripe to overripe fruit, medium to long finish. -/- Next day it had kept the same character but with higher intensity

(Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage Blanc) Nice lemon chiffon and vanillin nose; tasty, oily texture, tight, but good vanillin, guava and papaya palate, but not overly fruity; medium-plus finish 91+ pts.

Terrific. Just opening up. Lovely fruit and depth. Wonderful texture as always with these wines.
