Big fan of Lafleur. This is a less concentrated, more “elegant” style overall that is going thru a phase now. Decanted for two hours and paired with lamb chops. Red fruit (mostly Rainier cherry) with some blueberries in the mix. Oak very much in the background with excellent winemaking. Almost a Burgundy Texture and Softness. Did not detect any green, nor botrytis aromas. I thought it need a few more years to express more Lafleurness. The best 2013 Bordeaux I’ve tasted to date.

Where have you been all my life? Meaning, this style of lightweight, elegant, ethereal Bordeaux. Analogous to Rayas in CdP. This is my first tasting of Lafleur, so I can't compare it to other vintages. But I love the elegance. Soft dehydrated raspberry, soil, bramble, violet.

Meeting this wine is like walking into a florist shop that cannot be swept, because there was so much earth on the floor. Add to that, a touch of licorice, espresso and sweet, fresh cherries, black raspberries and plums and you're close to what the wine is all about. Soft, bright, charming and fresh, but as you would expect with 2013, the wine lacks the depth found in the best years and instead offers you, early drinking charms.

Somewhat shy, but pure and serious nose of dark fruit, truffle, some violet and spice. More red fruit with time in the glass. Excellent detail and finesse on the palate. Long and powerful with a very structured finish.

IMW Bordeaux Tasting - 2013 Vintage (Hyatt, San Francisco): Aromatic but austere on the palate like l'Evangile.
Elevated tannins and acid.
