Tasted over 2 hrs and day 4 -nearly semi-translucent red mild bricking -sous bois funk faded red fruit, richer and fuller on day 4 gorgeous aromatics -med/med+ acidity leave a tangy note on the finish, med/med- weight steely red fruit with a sweet decaying mature element, med- tannins; picks up depth richness and some noticeable wood on day 4 -pleasant though surprisingly fully mature, while its terroir is evident it is more evolved than I would expect for an '07 Rugiens; shockingly better and quite impressive on day 4 where it actually seemed more youthful

Very pretty wine. Beautiful, bright garnet color. This is not a thick burly wine, but a much more nuanced, lithe wine. Aromas of both red and black fruits, with beams of cherry, raspberry, and boysenberry, but with a frame of spice. Earth, iron, a little clove, and pepper. Sweet bright fruit on the palate. Rather short finish, but still quite enjoyable. One of the better Pommards I've had.

Decanted one hour (helped open a bit, so is optional). Translucent garnet. Cherries, peppery spice, florals and some forest floor on the nose. Lighter weight fruit with some layering of flavors and decent penetration. Good dose of acidity and some background tannins. Nice with CR salmon with cherry sauce. Still in good shape on day 2. Could hold a bit longer, but I think this is for near term drinking.

Nice bottle of Pommard. A little burly and rustic, but not too much.
