Holding nicely, though definitely past the peak. Leathery prunes with soft cooked plums and cassis, this has an old country house feel with damp curtains and wax polished floors. Tannins completely integrated, its a supple, curvy wine, but very enjoyable with a good food pairing (lamb chops in this case).

This wine was tasted as part of a bigger Bordeaux tasting, so the note might be a little bit short: cherry red, nice nose of forest ground or leather/cigar box, smooth in the mouth, red berries in the mouth and aftertaste, good wine

nice fresh fruity bouquet, cassis in the foreground, little cherry, earthy, still some tannin on the palate, this a little rude or undeveloped, so the appearence is fresh, lacking complexity, a little lean, cassis fruit, soil, midweight body and finish, but does very well with simple nutritious food, this time beans and chorizo, for me this vintage is on top now, but no hurry, the tannin will keep this wine in well stored bottles in this condition for some more years, and I have to commit that the Bordeauxstile of the last century is mine......, 85- 87?

Monthly Tasting Group LTB 2009-02; Médoc: La Tour de By: Vertical of 10 vintages (by HG): Developed bouquet with some cassis, cherries and raspberries. In the taste the fruit is almost gone. Only some cherries left. Medium bodied. Some bitterness and drying tannin in the finish. The wine will not improve anymore, but the tannin will make this wine last for another few years. I expected it to be more powerful and full bodied.
