  • Medium straw color; orchard fruits, crushed stone, bruised apple, plenty of dry extract and power; youthful still with firm acidity. 93+

  • Wow. This was amazing. Not fully mature but would be crazy to wait much longer given how good this is drinking

  • 13x Pinot Greatness: My wine of the tasting, beating all Pinots in the lineup. Telltale Burgundy freshness, very high complexity, Coche like matchstick notes, some first tertiary notes and an impeccable balance. A great wine from A to Z.

TN: Medium expressive nose with matchstick, butter, some hints of caramel. Wow. On the palate, this is superb, very layered, matchstick, butter, caramel, minerality, citrus fruit, some orchard fruit. So layered and highly precise. Superb aciditiy backbone, quite long and expanding finish. Superb balance.

    Decanting: No extensive decanting needed.

  • During a Pinot blind tasting dinner. Great nose with flinty elements intermixed with pop corn and lemon curd, attractive and complex. Generous palate but with good freshness for the volume, on the finish a bit too much caramel for my taste.

  • I have been lucky enough to drink the 2002 about two weeks ago so this made an interesting comparison. Both were very enjoyable and about at the opposite end of the drinking windows. Bright yellow in colour. Nose shows green apple, yellow plums, pear with almonds and mineral notes. Palate shows lemon, apple and mineral notes. Very intense, balanced, persistent and long. Very approachable now but I think this is still improving. I would try in three years again.
