  • Gorgeous wine. Every chardonnay I have tasted in the last couple of years that came from 2013 in Margaret River has been excellent, be that from Cape Mentelle in the southern region to Yallingup in the north. Pierro is smack bang in the Golden Triangle heart of Wilyabrup, with some of the oldest plantings in the area that deliver great fruit to a winemaker who really has honed his craft. Rightly considered one of the great wines in MR for a very long time. Mellowed to a golden hue, wonderful nose of a little almond meal and butterscotch, but very restrained. Very rich palate, fully developed, bit of lemon curd rather than the honeycomb the nose might have suggested, the oak giving a great backbone that lets the fruit play out. Top of its game - drink it if you have some.

  • Appearance: Bright and clear, it is light lemon color, with watery rims and legs.
Nose: Clean, with medium intensity aromas of citrus fruit of lemon, floral notes of linden, mineral notes of beeswax and stony, oak notes of vanilla, kernel notes of almond, maturity notes of petrol and honey. The wine is developing.
Palate: Dry with medium acidity, the wine has medium (+) alcohol, medium (+) body, with medium intensity flavors of citrus fruit of lemon, mineral notes of stony, maturity notes of honey, floral notes of linden. The wine has a long finish.
Conclusion: Very good quality Margaret River Chardonnay with an nice nose showing good intensity, complex even though only a minor development notes detected, the wine has an exceptional palate, with good structure, great balance, concentrated flavors and a very long finish. Highly enjoyable and ready to drink now, though can benefit from further ageing of another 3-5 years.

  • Great chardonnay, nice pak notes, chestnuts, quite dense but not overpowering, long!

  • Very nice chardonnay. Burgundy like as
Is expected from Margaret river chardonnay. Nice long lemonny finish. Not worth the price though. Maybe it will improve with a couple of more years. But at this moment you can definately get a better bang for your Buck easily in burgundy

  • Very pale, straw.
Lovely well integrated French oak and ripe peaches.
Medium weight, nicely integrated oak spice and rich ripe fruits. Emphasis on the overtly ripe fruit, distinctively Margaret river style, with a very harmonious long palate and powerful but smooth finish. Oak, fruit and a light minerality are all there, while the smoothness of the finish impresses. Not overly complex but drinks very well now.
