Wonderful wine that still has a thick layer of tannins within it (at least in this bottle). Again, I found the floral notes that accompany younger bottles of this wine (roses, honey, apple blossom(?)) to be gone. Other than that, beautiful wine without the herbaceousness some other barbarescos have that can be off putting.

Gorgeous Barbaresco by famous producer Gaja. Day 1 was dull, mostly herbs, some dried fruit and dried flower. Saltiness dominating the palate and the tannin structure is assertive. Day 2 was a show, mint, spice, herb, red fruit, and tannin is partially resolved, but still has the potential to improve.

Very perfumed with classic violets and tar aromas, hints of leather, smoke, dried red fruit getting and nuts. Nice structure in the mouth, fresh acidity, gently warming alcohol, resolving yet grippy tannins. Full body with great texture. Very persistent, rounding, awesome mouthfeel. Still juicy and with tertiary. Overall well integrated with some years ahead thanks to tannins and acidity (though fruit is fading). Enjoy!

Bought 2 bottles in 2015. Uncorked and decanted 2 hours before serving. On nose cedar, floral, a bit of fresh rose. On palate, soft tannins, elegant and surprisingly short finish. I tried the first bottle back in 2015 and it was high in tannins. Now most tannins is gone. I expect this will improve after several years of aging. It turned out to be short finish. I’m disappointed.

Beautiful. Color is limpid ruby as expected, certainly shading into brick and brown to the edge. Nose is quite generous right out of the bottle - classic tar and roses. After a few minutes of slow ox, on the tongue there is predominantly berry fruit then fine grained and astringent tannins. Initial note is cranberry but deepens to reveal raisins and even a hint of port. Nice finish. Quite a solid Barbaresco, with many years of drinking left.
