Quite pleasantly surprised especially for a 2011. Very good and VERY sharp taste and flavors. COLOR: Dark and opaque with no signs of aging.
NOSE: Highly aeromatic with many notes of stewed fruit and leather.
FRONT: Lots of punch up front with tons of annisette and black currant.
MID: Nice and full
BACK: Peppery both black and green bell
FINISH: Present which lingers long after the sip is over.
OVERALL: Full mouth coat with flavors most present at the front of the palate. Not a fruit bomb which I like. Tasted next to a 2007 Cafaro Cab and it was every bit as enjoyable. Much different than Krug Yountville I have had in the past.

Did an alternating Cabernet vertical flight of 2007 Charles Krug Yountville, 2008 Louis Martini Sonoma, 2009 Charles Krug Yountville & 2010 Louis Martini. Rated best to worst in order was 2007, 2009, 2010, 2008. I don’t believe any of these wines were intended to aged this long but they were in the back of my cellar and gave them a go. Surprisingly the 2007 Krug was borderline excellent and stole the show. The 2009 Krug was nice but not as good as the 2007 with less complexity and starting to fall apart. Both of the Martini’s were still alive but starting to fall off and showing hints of dull. I suppose the moral of the story here is drink these young, as intended, especially the Martini’s

Still has that beautiful cab color in the glass. The fruit is a little muted, both on the nose and palate, but still went very well with ribeye roast. Dark red/purple fruit on the nose and palate with some cedar present, too. Nice balance.

A very pretty color of dark ruby with a brick rim.
Full bodied, smooth and elegant, with medium minus acidity.
Dry on the palate and fruit forward with nice complexity and mouthfeel.
Showing blackberries, cooked plums, figs, spices, coffee, cedar, light vanilla, milk chocolates, herbs, alcohol, vegetables, light earth and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and cherries.
This 11 year old is peaking now and showing nice balance. The nose is just gorgeous once it opens up.
Not from a good vintage, but it held up pretty well.
Delicious right out of the bottle, and better with airtime. Tannins show up after 30 minutes in the decanter.
Good by itself or with food.
13.9% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

Pleasantly surprised how wonderful this wine was. Decanted an hour or two before servicing
