Deep Violet with a pretty ruby rim, and leggy. Nose is light, sweet and fruity. Palate begins with ripe blackberry, currant and mulberry up front, with a touch of red fruit to brighten up the black. A little brambly earth and rosemary, balancing the hint of baking spices fill in the middle. It finishes with, sweet cigar and more fruit. A somewhat decent acidity saves the day on this fruity cab. This is a very quaffable, crowd friendly, stereotypical napa cabernet. Nothing special, nothing complex, but really easy to dispense an entire bottle before you realize you've consumed it. I could buy something less expensive for the same experience.
Update: after 4 days corked on the counter (normally too long) this shows some improvement in character. I stick to my initial remarks - easy drinking, typical, commercial Napa cab. But a hefty decant would provide some improvement.

Strong legs at first glance. On the nose some diesel even after some oxygenation. On the nose a lot of fruit. Notes of cherries, currant, and some leather. Really not a very good QPR. In a blind test I would’ve guessed it a $10 bottle - not $30.

Paid $70 at Empire Steakhouse in Midtown East. Surprisingly good. Didnt expect much given the price at the restaurant where it could be 3-4x retail but exceeded my expectation. Consumed two bottles and paired well with lamb chops and steaks. While the food was really terrible, which is a challenging thing for a NYC steakhouse to do, this wine saved the evening for me.

Typical Napa cab. Decent body and juicy. Just what I would have expected.
