Brick / Brown color. Nose is of intense anise. There is graphite and a hint of petroleum. Flavors of cooked cherries, licorice. The tannins are gripping but softened. The finish is medium plus. There is significant sediment in this 375 ML. The fruitiness is muted. It feels like it's past it's prime drinking window. I would back the window up. Consume now in the 350 ML format.

Festival of Phil (Phil's place, Putney, Sydney): From Coravin. Closed and reticent initially. With agitation some red cherry, spice, orange fruit tea. Medium plus intensity acidity, medium plus intensity chalky tannins, slight alcohol warmth, a little red cherry, fruit tea in support. Feels like it needs time to come together (despite being 11 years old)

Drinking very well. Clearly has gone past the 2021 estimated drink date - and likely will drink well through 2023 or 2024. Light color. Palate of red currant, spice, and leather with some acidity/minerality. It is a pleasing wine with a medium long finish.
