  • Good value wine. Not the best Barolo I have ever had but quite tasty. Dried cherry and some violet. Pleasant experience.

  • Not great Barolo. The nose has a lot of funk, almost mildew notes. Hard to smell much beyond that. On the palate the wine has a vegetal, astringent and tannic note. Doesn’t have the elegance or refinement or depth we are looking for in Barolo.

Do not decant this or aerate; it doesn’t improve the wine. Similarly I don’t see this improving much in age. Can’t recommend at $50.

  • Seventh of eight half bottles and consistent with earlier times. Takes only about 15-20 minutes for the fruitiness to settle down to let the secondary notes show. From there it was very easy to drink on its own and also went really well with spaghetti.

The palate has nice soft tannins, a bit of chocolate and spice and herbs. Very pleasant and enjoyable.

The half bottles are really ready to go and I would probably want to drink them in the next year or so.

  • Medium garnet in the glass. After some good decanting this opens up to a combo of primary and tertiary notes - redcurrant, dark cherry, bramble, dark chocolate, tobacco, dried flowers. The palate is elegant, with just the right grip of tannins and acidity. Feels a bit bland on the finish though. Definitely a modern style of Barolo that doesn't evoke nostalgia for the classics.

  • Medium reddish garnet in color. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & mulberries with overtones of floral notes of roses & earthy/dusty notes, orange peel, spices, herbs, minerals & a slight hint of cedar in the background. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of sour cherries, strawberries & pomegranate with herbs, spices & minerals. Lingering finish. Although it is presently accessible with decanting & extended airing, it will definitely benefit & develop further with additional aging. Made in a more forward, modern style.
