Had with Dave D in a small road house in Edmonton. Wine sat in the car most of the day. It was the first sunny warm day of the year. Totally unexpected. It was probably 80F in the car when I took the wine into the hotel.
I chilled in in my hotel fridge which thankfully was a crappy fridge, but just about cellar temperature.
Definitely worried it would be cooked.
Paid $25 corkage and our young server decanted the wine for us. Tons of sediment. The travel probably shook the bottle a little.
Allowed the wine to breathe for 7 or 8 minutes. Very closed, smooth mouth feel, it needs to breathe.
Ordered steak bites and truffle fries appetizers and sipped water while the wine was allowed to breathe for more minutes. Applies took 15 minutes to come and the wine had opened up a little.
Over two hours the wine opened up and we really enjoyed it. It probably deserved at least a two hour decant, but the conversation and laughs made up for the sub optimal wine conditions.
We had been planning a get together for over 5 years, only to have something always interfere, so this last minute meeting had to do.
Brought to a BYO event so had to PNP. Super interesting nose of creamed corn. Mellowed tannins and overall very enjoyable. Unfortunately, bottle was gone in less than 30 min so no idea how it would evolve over the course of the evening but I suspect at its peak right now.

Nose: BLACKBERRIES and Morello cherry, amazing freshness and fruit forward for the age. A warming alcohol, graphite, restrained/balanced tertiaries: leather, cedar, fresh cigarette tobacco.
Palate: Whoah, nice acidity. furry tannins (in a good way) a full bodied powerhouse but elegant at the same time if that makes sense. A finish for days.
Overall an absolute banger

Drinking very well, dark fruit, blackberry, currants, spice, firm tannins giving a solid backbone, long finish, still many years to go, I believe this was Jean Michel Comme's first biodynamic wine, wish I had more. Drank after the 2009 Pontet Canet, actually gave a slight nod to the 2005.

(Château Pontet-Canet) Dark red violet color; sexy, ripe berry and kirsch nose; ripe, plush plum and berry palate, a little extracted; medium-plus finish (65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot)

2nd of 5. No formal tasting note but this one left the impression that it still had some life left in it.
Seems like there’s a lot of variation in this vintage and it’s ready to drink, so if you have one, I think go ahead and drink it
