  • This pours light to medium garnet in the glass, lightly opaque at the core with come cloudy sediment. Beautiful vibrant color despite some suspended sediment. I expect this was jostled a little prior to service. The nose from first pour is beautiful and appealing showing high complexity and medium intensity. Zero oxidation. Aromas are of sweet cedar, mushroom, dried cherry, dried cranberry, dried red currant, pencil shavings, violets, thyme blossom, and cigar tobacco. The palate enters on red cherry and red currant with a kiss of light dusty tannin and medium plus acid. The finish is impressively long with powerful cedar and tobacco sitting for minutes on end. Just a left bank classic! Where else but Berns?
