WAY too young but man, Grivot always delivers for me. This has a powerful core of Pinot fruit but it's so well-proportioned and lifted with acidity that the impression is quite harmonious. Needs a ton of time to unfurl.

Agree with dark and translucent in the note before. This is a very muscular, concentrated pinot. I happened to have it next to a 2012 Gonon for some context and it still held up structually pretty firmly. There’s a lovey black cherry note, with some. Candied fruit, a hint of sage, but not too herbal or spicy, again quite muscular and plush. Grand cru blind for sure

A very dark but translucent wine which is a promising sign for the further development of this. It is not only the colour which is dark but also the nose and taste which is much more dominated by darker notes and berries than is usual for the otherwise quite accessible 2014 vintage. good concentration and nice length. I am sure this will develop nicely don the road. Keep for a number of years. It may require a higher score in some years.

Wednesday Cellar Visits in Burgundy - Paul Pernot, Grivot and Hudelot-Noellat (Cote d'Or): Tasting at the domaine. ed and black cherry with classic and forward savory spice. Excellent concentration, great length. I typically prefer Grivot's Echezeaux over Clos Vougeot, and 2014 is no exception. Hold until at least 2024, 92-95 point potential.

Vosne Millésime - Noblesse des Clos Vougeot - Les Grands Jours de Bourgogne (Château du Clos de Vougeot): Tasting, brief note. Bottled last week, so tough to fairly assess. Red and black cherry with good concentration and better spice. Like the rest of the lineup this is firm (bottle shock?) through the middle. More elegant, balanced finish. Need to revisit.
