Tasted with Etienne Grivot in his cellar after tastings 05s from barrel. Explodes from the glass with notes of roasted strawberry, cherry, blood orange, forest floor etc. Tasted a while ago but still relatively fresh in memeory. Perfect that afternoon.

(Grivot Jean Echézeaux) Medium ruby colour bricking towards the edge. Unusual nose – almondy. After the above this is so much thicker, smoother and red fruitier with a hint of spice. Acidity is good and the tannins completely softened. Very yummy. Actually if I'd read before Clive Coates review in his ten years on, I wouldn't have bought this one, but while the nose sounds similar, they rest is not recognisable. From me 18, from Clive only 14

Almost no bouquet. Opened up slightly after 1-2 hours, but very neutral. Not very earthy. Drank at Elio's. Disappointing.
