  • Loved it! Leathery/stone fruit on the nose, nice bitterness/volcanic/rocky mouth, with a strong finish. Would love a case of it!

  • Dark ruby and good with nice fruit, salinity and mineral finish. Medium-weight. Very good with the food at Emmer & Rye, Austin TX. Props to Emmer & Rye for a well-chosen wine list.

  • 100% Piedirosso. Clear, medium ruby. The nose has an interesting mix of tart red cherries and raspberries, ripe plums, smoke and tar. The palate is very dry, with medium (+) acidity, medium tannins and medium alcohol (12.5%). The palate is consistent with the nose but also exhibits a pleasant savory minerality. This wine does not see any oak, but has an inherent smokiness due to the varietal and/or the growing conditions on volcanic soil. It is light to medium (-) bodied and is probably best when consumed with food. It is drinking well now and should continue to show well for at least another year.
