  • Italian Wine Scholar Class at the Texas Wine School. 100% Piedirosso. Med ruby. Opens up w/ air from med to med+ intensity tart red cherries, raspberries, tart red plum, red flowers, smoke. Dry, with med+ acidity, med tannins & med alcohol (12.5%), w/ a pleasant savory, balsamic minerality and a slightly bitter finish. Despite being made entirely w/ stainless steel, it has an inherent smokiness due to the variety and/or the growing conditions on volcanic soil. Med (-) bodied, w/ med flavor intensity & length. Easy-drinking a great w/ food. It is drinking well now and should continue to show well for several more years.
