  At ten years of age, this one shines. It really does. This is the type of a wine the cab lovers are actually longing for. Has the tannins, but what is more, has that magical Rioja cellar bouquet. Real fireworks of aromas at this price point. Flowers, herbs, tobacco, chocolate you name it. This wine was one of the wines that made the light go off for me long ago. This is what those wine snobs talk about, yes. Will buy so many more.

  Noticeable smell of wet sock (or as my wife said grandmother’s armoire). Generally I don’t worry much in the smell but this one wasn’t nice. On the mouth was nice, typical red berry and oak. Overall not a good example if this usually reliable wine.

  Blend de Tempranillo, Graciano y Mazuelo y crianza de 26 meses en barricas de roble americano.
  
  Revolviendo en la cava encontré esta botella y me llamó la atención que la cápsula estaba manchada. Suelo sacarle la cápsula a los vimos de guarda para ver posibles filtraciones del corcho pero en este caso no lo había hecho porque la botella viene con una red de presentación que me pareció linda y la dejé. 🤷‍♂️
  
  Después de insultar un poco me decidí abrirla a ver cómo estaba y efectivamente el corcho había filtrado. 😟 Malas noticias!
  
  Lo descorché con mucho cuidado y si bien en nariz estaba un poco apagado no parecía vinagre. Lo puse en copa y lo dejé un rato y empezaron a aparecen aromas a vino. Buena señal!
  
  El vino no estaba perfecto, pero no estaba picado. Estaban los aromas que uno espera en un vino de este estilo: fruta roja y negra madura, café, tabaco y coco.
  
  En boca era muy tánico, aterciopelado y con notas a moras, grosellas, chocolate y vainilla.
  
  Sin dudas la filtración del corcho le hizo algo de daño pero creo que lo agarré a tiempo. No estaba perfecto pero estaba más que tomable y en un vino así es mucho decir! 😍
  
  A las dos botellas que quedan en la cava ya les saqué la cápsula, que de todas maneras no muestran signos de filtraciones. 🤞
