  What a blockbuster this is. Crammed full of dark fruits, rich, concentrated and not for the faint-hearted. Excellent length. Terrific winemaking. Style wise this is a wine that would be produced if Australians set up camp in Burgundy; uncompromising and full on. Delicacy is not a word that will ever appear in a tasting note for this particular Rugiens. The tannins are pretty hefty too so this is going to need time and lots of it. Estimated maturity: 2030+

  Very dark fruit here, earth, spices, smoke. Powerful and impressive tannins, bright acidity, great length. Quite rustic at this stage but in time this should soften and reveal more complexity. 90-91+
