By the glass. More Pommard but in this case with a little more elegance and complexity on the nose with memories of blackberries, sweet species and some balsamic notes. On the palate it is strong, with energy and slightly astringent tannins. At the end more of the same: monotonous and repetitive.

Barrel tasting at Domaine Courcel (Pommard): Dense and rich aromatics, similar to the Grand Clos des Epenots, with a touch more open red fruit. Intense spice to the fruit which is actually reasonably/relatively round and approachable when compared to the rest of the line up. Long finish. This is surely going to shut down. Needs 15-20 years. 91-93

Tasted after 2017 Pommard 1er Cru Grand Clos des Epenots. Better, but also some reduction. Earthy, powerful with serious grip and length. 90-91+?
