Forward, sweet, fresh, lush and ripe, with orange, apricot and pineapple all coated with honey and vanilla. This is quite a nice sweet treat that is well-priced and easy to like.

Lovely bright straw colour. Pineapple and orange nose, perhaps there is some more but it seems restrained and simple to my nasal passages. Very pleasant though.
Palate is an interesting mix of ripeness - orange, pineapple, nectarine with some wild honey, exotic spices and citrus notes. Overall very reasonably sweet and I am missing the botrytis nose and palate influence but interestingly it has a very slight orange peel back palate in my opinion. This adds to the interest and replaces what I usually get from more botrytis in the mix.
This is an enjoyable sweet wine, perhaps not showing fully all the usually expected Sauternes characteristics (botrytis, viscosity, apricot) but I have little doubt it will be fully enjoyable for a decade. QPR is reasonable, considering these aspects.

First look at Sauternes 2015 from barrel (Camping du Lac Bordeaux): After two disappointing samples from Filhot and Lamothe Guignard, this comes across as merely OK. It is balanced, it shows some interesting spice, but lacks the density and the volume if you will of the samples I really like from this tasting.
