Full gold colour, lots of botrytis on the nose and mouth, still has very good balance and will continue to age well for another decade or more, long finish. Very good but not truly great.

2012 Paso Robles Syrahs and Syrah Blends (Jeff K's.): About the same Deep gold/brick color of the 2001. Not as robust on the nose, perhaps some air time would have brought that out (or not). Pineapple and honey mostly. Some caramel. The palate is awesome and so expressive. Great acidity. Slight tropical fruit note with honey. Great persistent finish. A real treat as well.

Pre Auction Wine Tasting w/ lots of Bordeauxs (NYC): Sweet, but flabby, with a short finish. Needs structure.
