Big surprise. I expected this to be gone bc it was a demi and 2023 exceeded the critics drinking window. It can surely take another few years, but I'd rather drink now. Felt at its peak. Pnp an immediately pleasing, tasty, but constantly evolving wine both in terms of bouquet and palate. Structure, freshness, acidity, tannins, long-finish. Such a bargain for such a wine. Highly recommended on village level.

Coravin fun - Burgundy & Bordeaux (KC's place): From Coravin. Medium minus intensity aromas of struck match, bacon fat, red and blackberry, slight meaty notes. Juicy acid, a little wild sour red fruit, quite grainy tannins...Meh. Perhaps a bucket load of tertiary characteristics will raise the interest levels?

Coravin fun - Burgundy selection, Talbot bracket and supper wine (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Biscuit, slightly oxidised note; a little bruised apple, sweet spice, muted Autumn fruits, earth, slight leather. Sourly juicy, quite red fruits here and a bit sharp. Nah.

Colour: pale cherry, hint of brick
Nose: strawberry, raspberry. Cranberry. Balsamic. Blackcurrant and blueberry. Beetroot? Sweet spice, cigar box, perfumed.
Palate: strawberry, cranberry, raspberry, perhaps pomegranate. Balsamic. Cigar box, sweet spice. Old oak. Lithe, linear, fresh berry like acidity; moderate, sandpapery tannins, fine grained. Lithe, linear, some snappiness. Medium bodied, 13% alcohol. Seal: cork.

Tempted to say wine flawed or defective. But I don't know. Wine thin and bitter with little of interest on the nose either.
