  • 4+ hour decant and hours more time in the glass, this improved a bit but it's still somewhat closed and seems to not want to really express itself too much just yet. But it shows some of its charms, a glimpse, letting you know more patience will be required to experience more of what's hiding beneath.

The tannins are fine but grainy. More cellar time, 2-3 years and perhaps more air time out of the bottle would inch this closer to drinking it's potential and into it's early drinking window.

This has compact and concentrated red fruits, sweet wild berries, some spice, mineral, earth, and leather. The delivery is very focused. There is a cherry syrup/sappy-ness on the longish finish.

While very elegant, this possesses a focused harnessed power. In a few years, with more time in bottle, this Italian stallion, I'm sure, will run triumphantly through the fields and the forests.

The BdM made by these "chicks" is superb and one of my favorites.

  • Medium-deep reddish garnet in color with ever-so-slight clearing at the edges. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe red fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes of violets, cedar, herbs, spices, anise, cocoa/mocha, leather, minerals & a hint of balsamic notes. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe red fruit flavors of cherries, strawberries & pomegranate with spices, herbs, cocoa/coffee & minerals. Long lingering supple finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing but even at 9 years of age, it still needs additional aging to develop to its fullest potential at which time it may rate higher (94+).

  • Brownish red (brick) in color with orange tinge on the rim. Medium bodied. Nose of dusty dark cherry and strawberry, tar and balsamic vinegar. Restrained dark red fruit on the palate along with gripping but not overpowering acidity. Tasty cherry balsamic aftertaste finishing dry, with medium tannins. Nice to sip by itself, but better with food. Needs 20-30 minutes to open and soften. Drinking nicely now, but clearly has plenty of life left.

  • See previous notes. Pronounced intensity on the nose. Quite perfumed. Violets, cherries, pastille, balsam and forest floor. Great balance. Good acidity and the resolved tannins lends itself to pairing with food or having it on its own. Drink or hold. Was great right out of the gate. Lovely stuff.

  • Lovely. Dark purple hue, very fruity nose. First Brunello burst is big, fruity, still just ripe but flavourful red fruits - cherries, currants, hint of mint with a medium quick finish. Earthy and dry - ash, bit of licorice and long linger and that dry cheek pucker I enjoy. Drinking well now! Go for it
