Banane und Apfel in der Nase, Küchengewürze, Pfeffer, etwas Honig. Am Gaumen tolle Balance, grossartige Frucht (wieder Apfel, Banane), frische, grossartige Säure. Ein toller Veltliner mit sicherem Potential.

From the younger (10-45 years old) vines in the Spiegel, Stein and Rosenberg vineyards, biodynamic farming, harvested in the first half of October, spontaneous fermentation, unoaked, bottled April 2016. Still very young, this infant shows a rich and soft and spicy face, vinous and attractive, but without a lot of muscle tone. However, underneath the baby fat, there is elegant acidity (TA 5.7 gr/l) and cool minerality which provide underlying tension, and balance and weight (13.5% ABV) are very good. The fruit expression is clear and pure and the varietal note of white pepper is present. Fun to drink now, this should find its feet in one or two years' time and last up to a decade after that.

Bernhard Ott quick impressions: More lime character (yay, more character!) than the Am Berg and Fass 4, but less richness and it completely hollows out in the mid palate.
