Initially nose was very chocolaty and although it is not a youthful wine, it does not show its age. Fruit is very ripe and plummy and is enveloped by notes of eucalyptus and mint. With time an array of complex herbal aromas arises like oregano, lavender and sage. Notes of black olives as well. It screams its provenance and is more typical of Australia than its variety. Palate has firm tannins and there seems to be some added acidity as it tastes slightly sour despite the sweet fruit. A nice wine for its style.

Intense eucalypt, blueberry fruit and herbs. Mid+ body, sweetish with silky tanins, balancing acidity and a long finish. Very enjoyable but nowhere close to what you expect from a merlot...

Bordeaux Blends from Around the World Wine Tasting Presented by the Wine Commanders (Paradiso Restaurant, Athens, Greece): Easily recognized as Australian. At peak right now at age 10. Dark chocolate, mint, lavender, olive, cumin and dark plum on the nose. Full-bodied, balanced and velvety-textured with vibrant acidity. My choice as nr.2 and 7 votes as best of first flight.
