Mature yet fresh nose. Pear and honey , with a textural waxiness. Mature yet fresh, with an excellent mix of savory aspects to the fruit. Good acidity. Outstanding food wine.

Rich, golden color in the glass. Every so oxidative on opening, but quickly reveals honey and lemon and an unctuous palate. Mouth coating, but not heavy, as there's enough acid to to keep some tension and verve. Flinty and nutty finish. Held up over a couple hours. Perfect with my bang-bang chicken and other sichuan snacks. Just lovely.

A wonderful evening of Chenin. (Chez Kravitz- Old Saybrook): It started off with a bit of an oxidized character, but with air it quickly blew off to reveal a complex and vibrant wine. It’s a bit waxy with lingering citrus notes, great minerality and nice acidic snap. The wine filled in with time in the glass and took on a delightful honeyed character with the citrus becoming more orange in character. A lovely surprise. Low A-.

Chenin Blancs @ the Kravitz (Old Saybrook): Seems to be ever so slightly effected by some oxidation, but not anything that would want me to dump my glass. Waxy, a bit of lanolin and wool, mixed with nice tropical fruit. Good tension here. Quite good.
