  • Intaktes Rubinrot, keine Alterstöne. In der Nase rauchig, speckig, Kräuter, etwas Shokolade, auch etwas Lack, noch immer deutlich vom Holz geprägt, dahinter Sauerkirschen und Pflaumen. Im Gaumen rund, weich im Auftakt, der Wein zeigt Schmelz, eine delikate Frucht getragen von merklich Säure und fein verwobenen Gerbstoffen, diese sind noch immer ziemlich präsent, verleihen eine gute Struktur und tragen die Frucht in einen langen Abgang, wo der Wein auf rote Beeren und Tabak endet. Auf dem Peak, mit Reserven für weitere 10 Jahre. 90 vvPunkte

  • Donatsch Unique Pinot Noir Complete Vertical (Dolder Grand, Zurich): Tasted at the Matter of Taste Zurich Complete Donatsch Unique Pinot Noir Vertical (2000-2019, all from Magnum) Masterclass. Amazing roasted coffee bean notes, a layered and on balance darker fruit profile. Mineral notes of ash, earth. Palate is pure juice, albeit exhibiting still pretty mouthcoating tannin. Time will be your friend here.

  • All 20 Vintages of Donatsch Pinot Noir Unique: Once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to taste all vintages ever produced of this top Swiss Pinot Noir. All from magnum. A few obeservations: A) The structural frames are exceptional. Superb tannin quality, high, and perfectly-integrated acidity, lots of finesse and a weightless feel in all vintages. B) These wines are made to age. Only the 2002 was over-the-hill, most other showed young(-ish) from magnum and will have a long life ahead. Only the first vintage (2000) showed tertiary/peakish. C) The wines start drinking quite well from the age of 12-15 years. The younger ones from the 2010 vintage onwards were more about the potential with many even a bit closed. D) There's a jump in complexity with the 2004 vintage. Most (open) wines show beautifully complex, very well delinated, pure and Burgundian in style with a well-measured touch of sexiness.

    TN: Medium+ expressive, dark berries, dark red berries, smoke, ash, minerality and beautiful toasty notes. On the palate this is very fresh and elegant but misses a bit of openness, charm, creaminess, This will need a few years. 92/93 pts today but with more potential.

  • Mini Bordal spécial COVID (Dugat, Gantenbein, Massolino) (Chez moi): Ouvert 4 heures avant. Robe grenat moyen.
    Moyennement ouvert, mieux après 30 minutes.
    Arômes discrets de fleurs, de cerises.
    En bouche, équilibré et concentré, manque un peu d’éclat ce soir, aristocratique, bonne longueur.
    Encore en phase de repli à mon sens, va s’ouvrir à nouveau dans quelque temps.
