  So this wine went through many phases tonight. At first it was completely closed and not showing anything on the nose. Then, after an hour in the decanter, it was showing loads of reductive cherry fruit (almost offputting). And then, with dinner, it showed at its very best suggesting this should be paired with food. The last glass of the night about four hours after opening the bottle, it showed that it was starting to integrate the parts into a balanced wine. Last tasted this back in 2019 so it has had some time to age. I will wait another few years before I open another.

  90 pts today and 93+ pts in 5+ years. Why? It is still very primary and youthful. However, the purity of fruit and its overall symmetry suggests this will rock once it takes on some bottle age and the tart tannin softens and secondary characteristics emerge.
