Opened bottle 3 hours early and poured a glass to get air integrated into the bottle. Medium bodied, rusticity. Comes across as a lighter traditional Cote Rotie. Pine needles, iron, bramble berries, forest floor, smoked meats. Gritty tannins. Long mouth-coating finish.
When it sits in glass for a few minutes much of the interesting forest and umami elements blow off and it becomes fresh with purple fruit. My preference was to pour a little at a time and recork.
Pretty much undrinkable on day 2 (re-corked and stored overnight at 55F/12C).

An evening with Sorrel and Gerin (Uncorked, Bishopsgate): This was better than expected given the modest reputation of the vintage. A lovely sweet lift, with brambly fruit and cassis on the finish. Supple and welcoming, this is still primary but in a great spot right now.

Nose is closed, very young, not showing much, when the palate is long, with good elegance of tannins, and the crispy acidity balances the whole thing on a young baby like it is. Overall good wine, with certain ageing potential.

Loads of smoke, grilled meat, blue fruit, earth, black pepper, and flowers. Super accesible vintage.
Lithe, agile and powerful...long finish.

Aroma de especiarias, noz moscada, chocolate, couro, mineral. Na boca picante, equilibrado, persistência longa.
