  • A wonderfully elegant Hermitage thriving on its acidity but still with plenty of dark red fruit, tobacco and broth notes. Not one to keep for the ages, but very enjoyable now.

  • A year on from subscribing to CT and our previous Marc Sorrel bottle (how things have changed!):
Light ruby perhaps showing hints of its age.
    Cherry & pale tobacco aromas.
Refined silky fruits: Intense cherry, redcurrant, blueberry. Damp soil.
Light vanilla. Sufficient acidity for character with a lovely rounded sweetness in the lingering finish.
All in all a real pleasure and sadly the end of this vintage for us.

  • There was apparently no 'Greal' in 2002 so all the fruit went in to this wine. A good look into Hermitage. Tobacco leaf and dark fruit in the more 'manly' Syrah style. Soft and smooth tannins, this can be enjoyed now. By no means a profound wine, but if one does not want to wait 10-20 years this works.

  • Decanted one hour.Beautiful garnet red,not showing any obvious signs of age in the glass.Savoury nose with barnyard, funky notes, and sweet dark fruit.Medium bodied palate showing sous-bois,leather,dark chocolate and some dark fruit.Delicious.Slightly resolving tannins. The finish was perhaps a little short but overall very vibrant and drinking nicely now.Despite the poor vintage in northern rhône this was just outstanding.
