  • A light Hermitage, but with a core of integrity. Aromas of dark and red berries, but the palate has more of the sour red berries. Light, polished tannins swiping up the finish and holding the wine together. Decanted for two hours, but this did not make much impact. Yet I think this i drink now, there is not enough fruit to keep it going for much more time i the cellar.

  • Light for an Hermitage wine, made from 100% Syrah, this is surprisingly forward, and open at just 10 years of age, allowing the soft, smoky, fresh cherry, earth, olive and earthy characteristics to come through. The wine has lift, but not a lot of depth.

  • Much better than the last bottle. Fresher and more brooding if that makes sense. Surprisingly little sediment when decanted. Drinking well now, will last, but I don't think long term as it seems just a little lightweight. I'll keep the others a little while yet though and see how they develop

  • Seems very advanced for its age. Stewed fruit, resolved tannins, brick red colour. Premoxed red?!? Still, some acidity to keep it lively and the advanced development is not all a bad thing. It has been stored professionally in bond until recently so I wouldn't suspect poor storage. Let's see what the rest of the case is like.
