Rich red colour. Whiff of oak, leather and red fruit. Complex fruitcake and currant flavour, slightly rancid and dusty. Lovely blackberry and oak. Great with food.

Served by our lunch host to accompany rack of venison. Our host kindly served the 1998 alongside the 1975. Decanted. Good Bordeaux colour, not much sign of ageing. Good fruit on the nose and palate, soft, plummy, tannin has faded. Good length. Held in the glass for an hour. Very enjoyable.

Chateau de Pez tasting (8 vintages), early Mar 2019 at the Rheingau Gourmet Festival: dark crimson color; red and black berries; classic round Claret style with a fresh note on the palate; medium body.
A fine wine, ready to drink.

Really pretty on the nose right now. Beautiful stuff. Very pretty tobacco and fruit. Right in prime form. Drink up!

Drink now. Nice acidity but it’s fading. Still present red fruit and nice tertiary characteristics showing through.
