I converted three ladies from California chard to white burgundy with this bottle. Orchard fruit aroma. Light gold color. On the palate a lovely puff of white peach, a squeeze of citrus and a clean finish. Pernot delivers again. 90

Although I can be fairly tolerant of some oak in white Burgundy, I've never really come to grips with the oak use at Pernot (and Niellon for that matter). Both are excellent producers with great holdings, but they've always showed too much vanillin oak for me. This strikes me as a very old-school style of white Burgundy -- ripe and full with that intense lactoney oak, but the vintage provides good freshness here. Probably more interesting with time and if the oak fades out.

Expressive nose with creamy citrus fruit, a chalky minerality, and a hint of oak spice. The palate is medium bodied and fresh, with mouth filling texture, and very good acidity. But the finish is a bit short, and it doesn't seem to have the depth of stronger vintages. A fine Puligny, but not one I expect to transcend its level.

Excellent wine. Important to decant and drink 55-60 degrees F as the flavor comes out then. Might have had a higher rating if acidity had been higher.

Some electricity and great for a village level, but not fully worthy of the price tag. Lemon and apple pie.
