  • The cork was soaked through and crumbly and the middle of the cork came out. I had to pour through a large hole in the cork into a decanter, then used a sieve to decant into a jug, and then back to a decanter. Worked surprisingly well considering I don't have a Butler's Thief.

Really into tertiary strides with mushroom truffle decaying cherries and some soy with lovely acidity and so well balanced. Probably stepped off the summit but the view from the early stages of the descent was still sublime.

No abv stated. I would guess 12% or under. Was quite easy to drink a bottle and feel fresh (as my spouse doesn't really drink reds).

  • Maybe I got a very good bottle but this really exceeded my expectations, it was beautiful, very tertiary to be sure but fully intact, with a still brilliant garnet color, not dried out or musty in any way, with a soft-spoken vividness to it all I found captivating (especially the bouquet). 93-94 pts.

  • Not decanted, but carefully poured from a cradle (yes, there was quite a bit of sediment). In surprisingly good shape and suspect this bottle would have had at least a few more years of life. Fresh, juicy red fruit on nose and palate, but also a LOT of tertiary development, particularly smoke and smoked meat, and some earth and mushroom. Wonderful with ribeye, and especially pleasurable given its age.

  • From mag. Garnet. Nose has mushroom, forest floor, pyrazines, tobacco, red cherries, blue berries. Palate is red fruit, medium body, a bit diluted on palate. A lot of tertiary on palate. Starting to date but hits the spot today.

  • Les arômes olfactifs sont faibles on sent vraiment le vin vieux,décati.Par contre,la bouche est sensationnelle:une élégance formidable,un velouté magnifique avec des tanins complètement fondus et une très belle longueur.Apogée atteinte.
