Class in a glass. Golden in color and explosive aromas of honey biscuit apples. Beautifully complex, silky on the palate and very good length. Preferred this to the Ramonet Batard in same vintage that we drank alongside. Pure pleasure and privilege.

Reconditioned bottle. Next to the 1996 this is a little more exotic with hints of pineapple, exotic fruits, also white flowers and herbal teas. Very seductive and seems to be around its peak now.

A Year Later in Vero...; 3/17/2021-3/21/2021 (Vero Beach): By far the fanciest wine that we had during the weekend and I only took a tiny sip because I just don't get white burgundy and I feel like it should be reserved for those who really do. For many this was the wine of the weekend. For me, it was light and you could tell there was a delicacy to it which is appealing, but it came across as a hint bland. Thank goodness though as bank account would not appreciate learning to appreciate these wines.

(Leflaive Chevalier Montrachet) This was one of the greatest white Burgundies I have ever had. Piercing minerality and exotic tropical fruits on the nose. Very '92 profile with its stellar richness and very strong acidity but the story of this wine was the tell-tale Chevalier finesse. This had it in spades. Just glided acros the palate leaving a trail of ripe tropical fruits in minerals. Absolutely profound!

Honey, waxy aromatics. Rich, viscous palate. Slightly bigger dimension than Batard alongside. (RE 2634)
