  After reading Halliday’s reviews, I was a bit concerned but reality is that this wine was delicious, smooth and disappeared alarmingly quickly from our glasses. I am a bit worried that the changing of quard at Halliday’s has not been smooth and that some wines have been unfairly treated.

  No decant. It is deep red in colour. This is typical Grenache and Syrah style. Spicy with sweet red fruit and floral aromas.

  Nine Popes is Charles Melton`s nod to the great wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and is as rich, powerful and beautifully balanced as the best examples from France, with an excellent track record for ageing particularly well. The 2016 is a blend of 50% Grenache, 48% Syrah and 2% Mataro.
