amber color, at the opening some peculiar scents of hydrocarbon appear and vanish rapidly while the palate shows orchard notes in a bitter-sweet complexity where petroleum / hydrocarbon notes come back again. Parmigiano Reggiano a good pairing. Hidden gem but not for everyone

deep golden yellow, with poor acidity left and clear orchard notes, with some fashinating hydrocarbon hints. Enticing salinity with a sophisticated bitter-sweet note in the aftertaste. Best paired with Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. In a calm post dinner, after a long ride on the bike, thinking about the aftermath of this second wave

deep golden yellow, this Costa del Vento seems apparently a little bit over the hill, with poor acidity left and clear orchard notes, where typical timorasso minerality has partly faded away. But an enticing salinity with an eegant bitter-sweet note in the aftertaste tell this wine is still alive and wonderfully mouthfillig. In a calm evening thinking about lockdown to ease soon

Tasted with a dinner at Villa Sparina in Piedmont. Very citric with a high degree of minerality. Over time a fine, sweet oakiness which translates nicely to the palate. There the wine also shows well balanced and even silky with a pleasant degree of freshness - albeit also a tad bitter. This is a really enjoyable and viable alternative to your chards if you travel through Piedmont!

The return to La Ciau del Tornavento; 10/28/2017-10/29/2017 (Piemonte, Italy): A year since we tried (Papies 91) and definitely its evolving very nicely. Citrus notes, light Riesling petrolly feel, bright, polished and with lots of depth. An easy 92 and just hitting its stride.
