  • This bottle was too funky, fruit has disapated a bit, never clicked, drank with grilled pork chops, brussel sprouts, and plantains, medium body, Northen Rhône wines are fascinating, just need to find the right ones.

  • Another evening and another great wine!
18.45 € - excellent QPR, because smell and taste are also excellent. Smell - a load of tabacco here!( I understand not everybody likes this kind of aroma, but me...o yes!). What else? Earth and herbs, red cherry and blue berry ( what a mix!), barbecue smoke, anise (?) and a lot of more with some sweet aromas
Taste - a load of tabacco here!( I understand... you know the rest). But wait, there is more! Red cherry, mocca ( o yes!), red currant, herbs. Tannins and acidity are in full cooperation with flavors. I whish to get longer finish with more spice ( it's here, but shy and soft). Anyway for this money - 👍
Third glass and... what should I say. Nice mix of black chocolate and spice in much longer finish. Unpredictable, unstoppable, unbelievable. Why not to love to drink wine?!
    Second day of drinking -
    1. A lot of mocca flavor at foreground.
    2. Herbs
    3. Red cherry
    4. Tabacco
Smell is basically the same like yesterday.
    Great wine with great price

  • This came on strong after another year in the cellar. Has the plump Syrah fruit, length, and an underlayment of earth. Very nice, sorry it's my last bottle.

  • Balanced, dark color, funky nose, I think this wine is oxidized (funky), good fruit, 13.5% abv, Syrah, a joy to drink, so different from California Syrahs, drank with baked NJ clams and NJ baby back ribs, I forget sometimes how good Guigal wines can be, will drink again as I have another bottle.

  • Wonderfully balanced, clean, and fresh style. Medium-bodied, with strong but not overpowering tannins, lovely acidity. Violets and dark fruit give way to savory and spice flavors, particularly white and green bell pepper. Drank with braised shortribs, and the wine kept pace beautifully. Still young, but eminently drinkable now.
