Nose: butter, caramel, white flower, stone fruit, mango, banana Notes: the palate is certainly firm and well structured but the nose is quite closed and fails to open up completely. While Kongsgaard remains to be my favorite white from US it's rarely about elegance or finesse but more about power and structure - this vintage is no different. Clearly a lot more time is needed for this wine to develop thus I would suggest further cellaring for at least another 6-8 years before approaching. Drink: 2030+ Rating: 90

Extremely enjoyable. The nose has the slight aroma of tropical fruit. The palate is alternating hints of guava and mango mixed into flavors of pine nuts. A really nice finish. Served alongside Sunday night sushi.

This is outrageously good! Full-bodied and full of flavour, yet perfectly piquant, like a wonderful pineapple dessert in a glass. Smoky, stony, creamy nose, that's immediately inviting. Such a pleasure to drink a wine this structured, bittersweet and complex - and incredibly mouthwatering. The finish again contains multitudes, including a return to the gunflint from the nose, and lingers almost indefinitely. Delicious stuff, and likely even better down the line as the oak continues to integrate.
