Consistent with my last note except that I think I was abit too generous comparing this to Grand Cru Burgundy and while still very Burgundian in style, I think it more appropriately compares to a good village level or 1er cru. Quite nice.

Well, my first taste of Bindi’s wines and I have to say that it wasn’t at all what I expected from an Aussie wine. This wine was light on the palate with rich, but delicate, earthy red fruit, sous bois and mushroom composte undertones and good minerality at its core. If I didn’t know what I was drinking I would have guessed 1er or Grand Cru burgundy, probably a Chambolle. What a delightful surprise! I should have bought more.

By the glass. Intense earthy, mineral and at the same time austere sensation on the palate. More shy on the nose with notes of dusty cherries. Elegant with a hint of liqueur, length and precision. Vineyards north of Melbourne. Biodynamics works, once again.

This feels less creamy and more on the herbaceous notes. Fresh and dried herbs, spice, wild fruit with a more savoury finish. This will need time in bottle. Barrel Sample, 15-17 months in french oak, 25% new. 92-93
