  Granate de buena capa con el ribete algo abierto. Este Pisón ofrece una nariz compleja y con volumen, que incluye fruta roja fresca, matices especiados , algún tostado, sensaciones florales, hierbas aromáticas, cacao en polvo, especias dulces y un fondo algo balsámico. En boca tiene buen ataque, cuerpo medio, tanino intenso pero muy pulido, notable frescura, estructura media, delciados amargos, largo y muy bien perfilado. Magnífico paso por boca con una finura remarcable.

  Heady aromas of black fruit, soil, pine/menthol and incense. Great mouthfeel with rich, concentrated fruit, yet firm and structured with very dry tannins on the finish. With the black fruit and tannins, it reminded me of a Left Bank Bordeaux, albeit a bit amped up in power and more glycerol.

  Consistent with my last note, although this time the bottle was a bit tannic initially (after 1 hour decant). Started to soften in hour 2. Paired well enough with rosemary, thyme & garlic-rubbed leg of lamb. Nice wine but once again under-performed relative to the 94+ ratings it is garnering here. Just not my style, I guess (or that of my wife).

  Notitie consistent met die van 6 maart 2021 zij het dat de wijn zich vandaag sneller 'opende'. Buitengewoon verleidelijke Rioja!
  
  Note consistent with that of March 6, 2021 except that the wine 'opened' faster today. Extraordinarily seductive Rioja!

  Licorice, smoky wood, black fruit, pepper and some earth. Very smooth. Clearly in its drinking window but also seems like it’s got many good years ahead of it. The only knock, which other posters flagged as well, is that it isn’t as complex as one might hope for at this price point. But is an excellent wine nonetheless. Paired well with a very rich rotisseried prime rib roast.
