  Lovely flavours, still great raspberry coming through with unctuous feel that lingers. Leathery notes and bang on long finish.

  It’s at the beginning of its prime drinking window which should last for over a decade. Great blue and black fruits, tobacco, oak chips, <insert more oak descriptors here>, long finish with medium+ tannins and medium acidity.

  Mostly Bordeaux dinner (Eddie V's - Tysons Corner, VA): Intense nose displaying intense black fruit, noticeable oak, chocolate, coffee ice cream and earth. Excellent concentration, packed concentrated black fruit, medium acidity, medium mineral, strong slightly dry tannins and a long intense black fruit driven finish with a bit of heat at the end. This is a Rioja in steroid.

General / potential: Great wine with a long future ahead of it. 50 + Color: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 14 + Taste / Finish: 19 + Overall / potential: 9 = 97/100
