Held its own next to a 2015 La Tache, which sums up the quality and balance on show here. Perhaps missing the intensity I find in the very best vintages of this wine. A real treat.

2022 New Year's Day Tasting (Atlanta, GA): Pale ruby see through; rose water, sexy nose, roses, pure pretty and Burgundian, driving, sweet and ethereal; delicious, youthful, slight medicinal, not very developed but enticing; '11 Giacosa Asili Riserva?; 93+.
New Year's Day Double Blind Tasting (Atlanta, GA): Tasted double blind. On color alone, I called it Burgundy until I put my nose in the glass. High toned red raspberry fruit, mahogany wood and very acidic with big tannin. This wine needs food. It ranked 5 of 10 in the line up for my palate during this tasting.

Super

Slow-oxed for 18 hours prior to serving into tasting glass (“Root” day): Pale copperish garnet to the eyes.
Red cherry liqueur and darker colored wild strawberry notes. Truffle like and dried floral notes.
Well integrated and complete palate with fine spices. Long and persistent, yet mellow finish. Velvety tannins.
Highly complete wine indeed. 95 points.
