Fantastic 2016 Napa Cab. Pours deep garnet. The nose is dried fig, banana bread and BlackBerry. On then palate I get black fruits, specifically BlackBerry and black cherry well integrated tannins and acidity. Medium for both. It is silky smooth all the way around. Enjoyed with a cheese board and crusty sour dough bread with JO, BO and my wife.

One hour double decant. Deep dark ruby magenta color. Creamsicle, boysenberry, magnolia, and thyme. Smooth, dry palate, with soft, fine acidity. Firm, full tannins on the longish finish.
This was good, but not amazing. Already feels like it’s in decline.
3rd bottle of this picked up from a local Costco and all have been peculiarly different though scoring within 1pt or so of each other. I'm not going to score this one as the other two bottles have been very recent but it's in their ballpark for sure, just for different reasons. This bottle not nearly as different as bottle 1 was from 2, but herein lies the rub......this bottle had tons of sage and savory components that the other two really didn't express. Also, this bottle performed best with 2 hours of air....it deepened the smooth dark red/black fruit and allowed the herbals to integrate better. It is smooth and round at that point. A heckuva deal at $97 .....might look to pick up a few more. All 3 bottles quite good, but each a little different.....what is it that Forrest Gump used to say? "Life is like a box of chocolates......"
Doing a 2nd bottle as I picked up more from our local Costco yesterday and this bottle, while still good, drinks a little differently than our previous bottle. Taking one point off overall.....only because this bottle tasted younger and not as integrated nor velour like smooth as our last bottle. I suspect the last bottle drank older than this one. Which was very, very good. This one is very good+. So some bottle variation in these, it appears. One more left to try, which way will it drink? We'll see over the next few weeks.

Old Timers At Charles Krug (Charles Krug Winery Carriage Hose): From a 3 Liter. Bit big and closed, but that is nit picking a very nice wine.
