Community Tasting Notes (8) Median Score: 93 points

  • Mango, starfruit, bright lemon, and some Sauvignon Blanc litterbox. Pleasant soft palate with a mouthwatering finish upon first sip. The cat piss and reductive notes thankfully dissipate quickly, leaving honey, lemon, juicy tropicals, and oak influence on the nose. The palate contains some refreshing stone and citrus, but the finish… it quickly gets dull and dispiriting, somehow alkaline. Some highs, but a few too many lows for me to really enjoy.

  • At Home Dinner. Served with Crudo Pesce this wine opened with a fresh pale green gold colour and a complex nose of lemon rind, freshly cut Nashi pear, crushed gooseberry, mint and oyster shell. The palate is fresh and quite primary with zesty notes of lemon, apple, gooseberries around a core of Nashi pear all balanced with a bracing line of citrus and slightly herbal characters. A lovely example of this blend bottled under Stelvin it will leave for ages.

  • This needed a little bit of time to open up but it eventually displayed fresh notes of lemon, lime, apple and a really pure vibrant note of Nashi pear with a subtle underlying note of gooseberry. Notes of almond, pecan and a hint of oats with a lingering touch of sea spray became much more prominent with more air and as the bottle slowly approached room temperature. The palate was round and juicy and held together with a nice amount of acidity and a great length. This can be drunk now and over the next 10 years, although it’ll probably peak in the next 5-8.

  • At family Christmas Lunch, Sunshine Coast. This perfect seafood wine opened with a fresh pale green gold colour and a complex nose of lemon rind, freshly cut Nashi pear, crushed gooseberry, mint and oyster shell. The palate is fresh and quite primary with zesty notes of lemon, apple, gooseberries around a core of Nashi pear all balanced with a bracing line of citrus and slightly herbal characters. There is a nice poise to this wine which will continue to deliver over many years.
