  • Much improved on day 2. Would improve significantly with a few years of aging.

  • Decanted for an hour, which was plenty. Screams CdC. Super pleasing. Perfect balance. Soft tannins. Finish and depth are lacking. Solid Thursday night wine or third bottle Saturday night wine or special occasion wine in my 30s.

    Girl says “super drinkable, 93”.

  • Regal purple color, pleasant nose mixed fruit and floral, entry is vibrant mix of moderate acid, fresh and medium ripe spicy fruit, earthy base mingled with soft tannins all marred by distinct foxy grape taste. Correct balance, tasty enough, well made, enjoy if you can tolerate foxy grapes. I would have guessed an East Coast wine.

≈35 min decant into a plastic, cylindrical pitcher which was then closed; Private Preserve used after Day 1.

N: Ripe blk cherries atop earth & mocha, one relative getting pyrazines (Swiss chard?), though ALL these aromas had to be teased out with vigorous swirling.

P: Relatives felt the tannins to be manageable, the wine's acidity being the more prominent (one relative felt QUITE so). Their overall Day 1 impression was of this being a relatively unyielding wine.

// Day 2: Both relatives felt it had improved/softened, though not enough to justify repurchase -- even @ the $34.99 which was briefly available.

  • Medium-dark reddish-purple in color. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruits of cherries, blueberries & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes, herbs, spices, some anise & olive notes & a hint of vanilla/oak in the background. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, mulberries & plums with spices, herbs, minerals & some vanilla/oak. Drinks quite well with decanting & extended airing, but will benefit from and develop further from additional aging. A blend of 42% Cabernet Franc, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Petite Verdot & 8% Merlot.
